Vinylux brings records back into your home with its range of recycled products. Each item is crafted from an authentic vinyl record or album cover, and showcases the original record label and cover artwork. The range includes record bowls, snack trays, record-label coasters, LP and 45rpm clocks, all created with out-of-play vinyl. Vinylux also re-use original album covers to create sketchbooks and notecards that showcase the great and funky album artwork of the pre-digital era.
Each item is created by hand in Brooklyn, NY where Jeff Davis and his team have recycled over 150,000 records. Vinylux is located in an arts & industry centre, which is dedicated to enabling designers and small manufacturers to work outside the bounds of conventional, mass-market production. The entire range has received accolades for its creative approach to re-using materials and for excellence in design. The Stepped Bowl, for example, is featured in Trashformations, a curated exhibit of the best American recycled products at Copia (The American Center For Wine, Food & The Arts).
Slight scratches, scuffs, and fading are the natural result of playing, handling, and loving our old records.
